Routers

Overview

Routers help you automatically choose the best AI model for each request based on task type, quality, cost, and fallback rules. You can also browse the available model catalog, create routing setups, and review usage, token consumption, and costs over time.

Getting Started

  1. In the sidebar, click Routers.
  2. You can start on the main Routers page at /routers/intelligent.
  3. From there, you’ll see sections for routing setup and feature highlights.
  4. You can also open the related pages:

2. Routers at /routers

3. Simple Router at /routers/simple

4. Usage & Analytics at /routers/usage

Actions

Browse the Model Catalog

  1. Click Model Catalog.
  2. You’ll see a list of available models with pricing details.
  3. Review the models that match your use case.
  4. If you want a model available in your chat selector, check the box next to it.
  5. You’ll see the selected model added for later use.

Configure a Router

  1. Open the main Routers page.
  2. Find the Intelligent Router section.
  3. Review the How it works and Configure Routers sections.
  4. Click Create New Router.
  5. Choose how you want requests routed based on task type, quality, cost preferences, and fallback behavior.
  6. Save your router setup.
  7. You’ll see your new router listed as available for use.

Use the Simple Router

  1. Open Simple Router.
  2. Pick a model from the catalog.
  3. Send your request through the endpoint.
  4. You’ll see a chat-completions style response using the model you selected.

Review Usage and Analytics

  1. Open Usage & Analytics.
  2. Review your API usage, token consumption, and costs over time.
  3. Use the charts or summaries to compare activity across periods.
  4. You’ll see a clear view of how your usage changes and where costs are coming from.

Requirements

  1. You need access to the Routers feature on any plan.
  2. You must be a member of the workspace.
  3. No special role is required beyond member access.

Troubleshooting

  1. You can’t find Routers in the sidebar

1. Confirm you’re signed into the correct workspace.

2. Make sure your account is a member of the workspace.

3. If it still doesn’t appear, refresh the page.

  1. A model doesn’t appear in the selector

1. Open Model Catalog.

2. Check that the model is selected there.

3. Return to your router or chat selector and refresh the list.

  1. Usage data looks incomplete

1. Open Usage & Analytics again after a short delay.

2. Check whether requests were recently sent and may still be updating.

3. If the issue continues, confirm you are viewing the correct workspace.
